23&Me

After putting this off for years, I sent my saliva to 23 and Me to find my health risks, my relatives and my ancestral origins. The information that I received via email yesterday was exciting, fun, and, thank goodness, it was mostly okay.

There are 1,001 relatives I didn’t know on my list, and one is impressive. That one is J. Craig Venter, the former president and chief scientific officer of Celera Genomics. Craig and Francis Collins are credited with the first mapping of the human genome. Up to this point, my only famous relatives were the ones who founded Uniontown, and cousin who owned “Gunsmoke’s” Long Branch Saloon.

The report revealed that I didn’t have the genes for Alzheimer’s or Parkinson’s, and that was a relief. There were no major genetic abnormalities that I’ve passed on to my kids or grandkids, and that was a relief, but there were some more interesting facts that cracked me up.

For example, I’m a tiny part Neanderthal. Today, that’s probably not something to put in your curriculum vitae, but it’s a minute enough portion that it explains some of my physical traits like straight hair and a little hair on my back. I know, TMI. Thankfully, the percentage was low enough that I’m not a knuckle dragger.

My very favorite part of the report came from the page entitled traits. This was something I hadn’t expected to find from a tablespoon of saliva. For example, the very first trait is that I have the ability to match musical pitch. Once again, what a relief. Especially since I had majored in music in college. That is a trait that I had not realized could be determined from genetics. So, when adults tell me they have absolutely no ability to match pitch, maybe it isn’t just because some music teacher didn’t want to deal with them.

Here come some of the funnier and more interesting ones that caught my attention. For example, I will not have a uni-brow. Oh, and how about this one? There are slightly higher odds that I will not like cilantro. After all these years, I finally understand.

For those of you who wonder about the unusual smell when you go to the bathroom after eating asparagus, it’s heredity! Apparently, some people don’t notice any difference, but for me? Post asparagus potty-time is clearly noticeable, memorable and well-defined.

I’m more likely not to be bitten by mosquitoes any more than the average human. I’d argue that one to my mosquito scratching grave, but hey, it’s not a perfect test.

How about this one? I’m likely to wake up around 6:58 a.m. every morning. OMG, that is soooo true. What the heck is that? I don’t want to wake up at 6:58 a.m., but regardless of the time zone, that’s my wake up time. OK, it’s not always my get-up time. When I ran hospitals and had to be at work by 6:30 a.m. for meetings, I’ll admit that sometimes I didn’t wake up during those meetings until almost 8, but who knew?

This one is a little gross, but I’m more likely to have wet vs. un-wet ear wax. Not that any of us needed or wanted to know that, but there it is. Hazel or brown eyes, no dimples, and detached ear lobes that I’m hoping won’t become too detached.

And here’s the one that’s been bugging me for years. When I get my picture taken, my hair will be photo bleached. That means I’ll look even more bald than I am. Photo bleached hair, a genetic trait? Who knew? 23 and Me, that’s who.

There are countless of people that are seeking profitable sport betting picks everyday and some ones lose money and a few of them win money.

If 2 percent can perform it, so can another 98 percent should they perform the same
things. Without question, BJ “The Prodigy” Penn is the very best 155 pound in the world.

When you start to bet on horses there are tons of factors which are into it.
If 2 percent are capable of doing it, so can another 98 percent if they perform
same things. Systems that tend to be temporary are classified as
“trends” and single events that tend to influence betting one of the ways or the other are classified as “angles”.

The short respond to is, “definitely”. Indeed, there aare auctions you do not need a Vendo License to take part in (any
individual can go). And sure, you can phrchase autos at underneath marketplace costs and resell them for
gains in the $500 to $4,000 vary.

Sound attractive? Perfectly, whilst do-capable, I you should
not want it to sound also effortless.

My individual choice is to “cherry decide on” the auctions for the later-product and decreased-mileage cars and trucks.
There are some others who favor to fix up more maturee cars with mechanical and/or visual appeal difficulties.
Whilst this seems to do the job nicely for them, it
is just not our marketplace. It also will take far more time and these performing it definitely
have to be reasonably specialist about automobiles.

So, I’m going to create about the prospective revenue choices only from my personql position of watch,
bearing in thoughts that there are other vehicle shpping
for and providing approaches that perform as properly.

The principle of “flipping” cars and trucks is quite
very simple truly. What you want tto do is get a car at a price tag significantly
plenty of under guide values thazt yyou can promote it at an fantastic price tag and
nevertheless male a pleasant earnings. This
is a real gain/gain for both of those the purchaser and the seller, building tthese kinds of cars the fastest to offer.

Youu can uncover this kind of autos by calling and pinpointing determined “by proprietor”
sellers. But tuis usually takes time and powerful
negotiating capabilities. Also, these sellers would possible trade in their cars and trucks iin advance of accepting a deal under trade-in benefit.

Generl public car auctions are usually a much
improved option. There are many automobilrs to opt for from aand the charges paid out can be challenging to defeat.
While neglect all that “cars for $a hundred!” or “90% off retail!” advertising
buzz we see on the world-wide-web.

And the range and high quality of the motor vehicles at these auctions has amplified significantly in recent months thanks to the negative financial instances
    we’re currently in.

But what do you look for iin a automobile to capitalize on this?

Effectively, I never rerally have a pure definition I can sset into terms.
It’s typically a “typical feeling” thing, mixed in with a minor information. Whhat I can say
is that you may know them when you see them aas you preview the listings
a handful of days ahead of an auction. They type of just soar out aat you.

I’d advise wanting for mid-priced autos ($4,000 to $ten,000) with substantial dssire and a track record for good qualpity (probably something like a Toyota
Corolla) with averrage or decrease mileage. I might also suggest
likely after nearly any car that stands out for the
reason thawt of “particularly” small mileage (driven much less than 8,000 miles a yr).

Then, target a shopping for price tag that is generally 60% to
seventy five% beneath its trade-in worth (you can expect too be
surprised how usually you can be the successful bidder at a price tag like this).
This means it can bee resold at an very desirable price tag.
This is a enormous competitive benefit when it arrives too reselling.
