NICHOLAS JACOBS JOINS SUNSTONE CONSULTING AS INTERNATIONAL DIRECTOR

Windber Medical Center’s just-retired President and CEO, F. Nicholas (Nick) Jacobs has joined Sunstone Consulting as International Director. Jacobs will continue his association with WMC and Windber Research Institute until the end of the calendar year or until those organizations find a replacement for him.

Sunstone Consulting is a $5 Million organization with offices in Pittsburgh and Harrisburg in Pennsylvania; New York, Kansas City, Tucson, and Indianapolis. The 6-year old firm deals specifically with reimbursement and compliance matters, revenue cycles, regulatory environments and contract management. The emphasis is on organizations in medical fields of operations. Greg St. Clair, Managing Principal of Sunstone Consulting says Jacobs will add a dimension to our consulting services absent until now.

“Mr. Jacobs brings to our organization an exceptionally broad background that ranges far beyond his obvious success as a hospital administrator,” he said. “Among his established duties, he will be free to develop a new client base not necessarily tied to the medical field.”

St. Clair said “while we had no previous direct working relationship with Jacobs, we have admired his work for some time. We moved quickly to engage him when the opportunity presented itself. He is a good fit for our small but aggressive organization.” Jacobs notes that when he announced his retirement several weeks ago he said he would look for a niche as a consultant that also would allow him time for writing and other pursuits. “I guess in this instance, the niche found me,” he mused.
